Muse is one of my all-time favorite bands and for good reason! Listen to their new album!! What I love about them is how dark and badass their music is and at the same time very musical and musically tasteful - they use a myriad of instruments, dynamics, and rhythms and it’s quite orchestral…like a badass orchestra.
Tinashe - The Last Night On Earth (Giraffage Remix)
I love this song!
[Summer 2012 Playlist] Songs I’ve been listening to a lot lately - chill songs or songs with an oldies feel.
One of my favorite songs ever. No matter how long it’s been since I’ve heard it last, I always find myself falling in love with it again. It makes me feel quite happy and calm despite how chaotic the song actually is. I love Muse.
Adele - Right as Rain
I can’t stop listening to this song - it makes me want to dance non-stop
"I belong to you, you belong to me, my sweetheart."
Steve Aoki feat. Lovefoxxx - Heartbreaker
Dia Frampton - The Broken Ones
Beautiful song and beautiful video. “When I heard this song, Dia’s performance was so amazing that I immediately I just had this vision for kind of “Where the Wild Things Are” meets “Lord of the Flies” meets “Peter Pan’s” the Lost Boys. Such a great song, and such a great performance - I could feel the emotion. And I just felt so passionate about it I just saw the whole thing very clearly, and it really hit me emotionally.” - David McClister, music video director
Rocking out to Yelle while forcing myself to study. Yelle - Je Veux Te Voir
One of the best things about international flights is that you get to watch tons of movies, and my flight to Thailand on Singapore Air had a great movie selection. We watched “Drive,” and I really liked it. Plus, it had a great soundtrack and this is one of the songs from it. Girls, I know most of you are crazy for Ryan Gosling - he’s in it if you need more incentive to watch the movie. ;)
Me gustas tu ;)
My new super chill song of the moment, introduced to me by my PiYo instructor. She plays this at cool down at the end of every class. Loves it!
“I think I might’ve inhaled you
I could feel you behind my eyes
You’ve gotten into my bloodstream
I could feel you floating in me.”
NPR: Tiny Desk Concerts Podcast
"Tiny Desk Concerts from NPR’s All Songs Considered features your favorite musicians performing at Bob Boilen’s desk in the NPR Music office. Watch videos from John Vanderslice, Tom Jones, Raphael Saadiq, The Swell Season, The Avett Brothers and more."
I’ve been listening to these podcasts all night while packing. I really like that the videos are recorded in a small office, gives the performances a “real” feel, almost like you’re there in the room. Also, you get to see who is actually good live as opposed to recordings.
Faves so far are: Adele (35), Phoenix (87), Zee Avi (115), Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (119), Rodrigo y Gabriela (121). Rodrigo y Gabriela are seriously talented at playing guitar, their fingers move SO fast. Check them out, please!
